Summer Bay Resort Lang Tengah Island

Is summer time, peeps! I think best combination for summer are dazzling crystal clear sea, beautiful white sandy beach with prefect sunny weather, so most of the summer time, I will be travel to island.

Today I'm reviewing about Summer Bay Resort located at Lang Tengah Island. This island is  located between Redang Island and Perhentian Island, and can be accessed by boat from Merang Jetty.

Travelling period is from March to October. I think the best travelling time to East Coast Island is May and June. March probably the sea wasn't that clear yet, April, July maybe will be raining, Aug, Sept and Oct is getting closer to monsoon season, the wave could be very big.

How to getting there? You can choose by flight, by coach or by own car. Let's see the boat schedule 1st.

* From Jetty to Resort have another time is 01:30PM, but you have to pay the additional cost, MYR100/Adult/Way, MYR80/Child/Way.

Most of the people will choose flight to touch down there. Lang Tengah Island is different with other Island, they only have single boat schedule which is FOC depart from jetty.  

All airlines are selling normal price on the earliest flight (mean no discount at all), because if you buy the air ticket on 11AM something, you have to pay additional cost for the boat transfer and you will be miss the snorkelling on Day 1.

For transport cost point look like abang adik, but why want to miss a fancy snorkelling trip with paying the same money to the resort? So my advise to my reader is buy the earliest flight (around depart on 7am).

Most of the resorts on East Coast Island are providing package rate, of course they do have room rate only, but very less people will take room rate only. Alright let see what the package including.

Here is Merang Jetty, it take about 45 mins from Kuala Terengganu Airport to reach here.
And I know you guys may say it's lousy. Yes, it's quite lousy if compare to others jetty, but doesn't matter, so long we can safely touch down, right?

Arrived the jetty proceed to the counter show the booking form to the staff, then they will pass you this Boarding Pass. If you loss it, you have to pay to on board.
After that the staff asked us put our luggage at the luggage point. They will help us transfer to the boat and direct send to our room. Impressive which mean that they have already set your room number before you reach.

After 45 mins, we are here, Summer Bay Resort. Lets see the hotel basic info.

After touch down the staff will guide to lobby, welcome drink and refreshing towel is served.
At the same time, the staff gave us some briefing like hotel info, hotel service they have, activities info.

After the briefing section, we may proceed to our room to have a rest and waiting for lunch time. They have few type of rooms, like twin sharing, triple room, quad room, family room (5 in 1 room or 6 in 1 room)

Ta~ Ta~ When we step in our room, we saw our luggage is in room already. =D

Next, the very important one, daily meal they provided. Buffet style breakfast, lunch and dinner, unexpected variety of foods.

Breakfast buffet, western style like toast, turkey ham, cocktail sausage, egg station, mash potato, salad. Local style they have Nasi Lemak, Fried Mee or Mee Hoon, stir fried verge  curry chicken or Chinese style breakfast Soup Noodle and Porridge.

Lunch and dinner buffet, for lunch and dinner the taste and flavor is to chinese style food. Each meal will have 3-4 variety of meat, and 3 different stir fried veggies, 1 soup and others like tofu, egg, variety of fried snack. The fixed is white rice, if you don't like white rice, they also have fried mee or spaghetti and noodle station is open for lunch too.

They will change the variety for day 1 and day 2, basically you will not eat the same food if you staying there for 3D2N. 
Example:- 

• Day 1 breakfast got nasi lemak, then day 2 will have fried rice.
• Lunch have fried mee, then dinner time will have spaghetti.
• Lunch have Chicken, Fish, Beef, Prawn, then dinner will have Chicken, Lamb, Clams, Duck.

So overall I'm satisfied with the meal they provided.

Our day 2 was completely spoiled, full day raining, morning snorkelling was cancelled, we forced to play mahjong at the lobby. After lunch time, the coach tried to bring us to snorkelling just in front of our hotel, the wave is super huge, when get into the sea is quite scary. 
The staff told me that they never see full day raining on April before. They said usually on April will rain but maybe after half hours will stop. Really sad, I did't enjoy the sun bath at all. I swear, i will be there again!
