Fan Cai Xiang Vegetarian Restaurant

Fan Cai Xiang Vegetarian Restaurant, opened since 2005, previously location was same row with KFC, Taman Danau Desa, now they have moved, still within Taman Danau Desa, but same row with Woon Pin Fishhead Noodles.

New location - Street view

They actually expanded their business from 1 level to 3 levels. New shop is providing lift service for pregnant lady, old folks and OKU. I felt this is very congenial. Added more marks for this service.
My grandparents are not convenient for walk. A very bad experience we faced before was we attended wedding dinner at big restaurant (group company). Their ballroom located at 1st floor, but didn't have lift, so end up my siblings and uncles have to lift my grandma up and down by using hands.

Step in the restaurant, the feelings is quite different with normal restaurant. The atmosphere is very good, light music spin in the air, all the patrons were quiet. Make me felt very peaceful. When your heart feel peaceful, the dinner will feel much more joyful, right ?

Special meal of the day will be hang on the wall. I like the lamp on the left hand side, it will auto spin one (like marry go round), on the lamp wrote a lot chinese wordings (not sure is scripture or principium)

Order List
1 x Pine nut watercress
1 x Village mix vegetables pot
1 x Pa dong Curry
1 x Claypot brinjal with salted fish
1 x Sautéed butter abalone mushroom
1 x Honey barbecue pork
1 x Steam beancurd with homemade sauce

Average spent will be MYR25-30 (or more) for 1 person. Menu click here.

Pine Nut Watercress, MYR18 (Small)
They only used the stalk of watercress stir fried with pine nut. Watercress is very juicy vegetable, so imagine every bite you have you will taste full of juicy, refreshing and palatable match with crunchy, mighty tasty, mighty expensive pine nut. The match is perfect ever.

Village Mix Vegetable Pot, MYR16 (Small)
Mix vegetables (Cabbage, black fungus, peas, carrot, beancurd skin and etc) cooked in claypot, seasoning with fermented beancurd. This dish is a must for all vegetarian. But not to me, because I don't really like the fermented beancurd taste.

Pa Dong Curry, MYR17 (Small)
"Mutton" cooked mix vegetable (cabbage, long bean, potatoes and etc), Tofu bok in curry style. It served with fried big "man tou". The curry is very nice but quit spicy, we added another "man tou" to match with curry mutton.

Claypot brinjal with salted fish, MYR17 (Small)
This dish in mandarin called Yu Xiang Qie Zi, Yu Xiang mean fish scent, Qie Zi mean brinjal. The special of this dish is the fish scent not really fish scent, the taste actually are from red chili, scallion, ginger, garlic, sugar, salt, soy sauce and seasoning. Fan Cai Xiang added "Salted fish" into this dish, i guess the salted fish is actually referring the seaweed roll on the top.

Sautéed butter abalone mushroom, MYR17 (Small)
Deep fried abalone mushroom (coated batter) then cooked with butter sauce and curry leafs. Crispy, crunchy mushroom coated with creamy buttery sauce.

Honey barbecue pork, MYR17 (Small)
This is very very very nice vege pork, so far the best in kl i ever had. Honey make it taste sweet but not too greasy, not flour scent at all. If can have some "char siew" sauce will the better.

Steam beancurd with homemade sauce, MYR24 (Medium)
This dish have a very beautiful mandarin name called Lao Shao Ping An (老少平安). Steamed mince tofu with home made sauce, if not mistaken inside got fermented bean. It's taste salty, I mixed it with white rice, le wild delicious appear.

This actually is my birthday dinner treat from my beloved colleague. The venue was selected by me. My mom suffered a lot during gave birth to me, so I decided to have vegetarian for my birthday. This birthday cake is from RT Pastry, but my colleague who bought it have forgot what name of it. It taste chocolicious. Thanks again my beloved colleague!
