Tim Ho Wan, 添好運

Hottest new opened restaurant in Klang Valley, I guess no need intro the background that much, because most of the KL-rian will know about it. Tim Ho Wan the Dim Sum from Hong Kong, their quote is "Hong Kong's Most Famous Dim Sum".

While Q-ing.
During lunch time I pass by their shop always long Q since 1st day of opening. Recently the upsurge has slightly dropped still have to queue but not that long line.

My manager organized this birthday lunch for my lovely boss, so we tried the restaurant that we never try before.

Our Order List
2 x Har Gao
2 x Siew Mai
2 x Char Siew Bao
2 x Loh Mai Gai
2 x Spanish Dumpling
2 x Steamed Pork Rib
1 x Chicken Feet
1 x Beef Ball
1 x Beancurd skin roll
1 x Pan Fried Carrot Cake
1 x Shirmp Chee Cheong Fun
1 x Char Siew Chee Cheong Fun
1 x Double Egg Porridge
4 x Barley
2 x Tea

Char Siew Bao. It's not traditional type, it's fried. Sweet, juicy char siew wrapped in mild butter favor skin. The skin is abit crunchy. The Char Siew is good, but I don't like the butter skin pau, abit greasy. I still prefer traditional Char Siew Bao.

Double Egg Porridge is I named it myself. XD
it actually named as Congee with Lean Pork, Century Egg & Salted Egg. Until I check back the menu, I only know the porridge contains salted egg. It tastes normal, so so only.

Loh Mai Gai. A tricky dish ever. Why I said so? cause on the menu, the mandarin word wrote Loh Mai Gai, but the English word wrote Glutinous Rice with Lotus Leaf. When it served, we all got shocked cause the size is big enough, we have ordered 2 pcs. In the end can't finish it, have to take away. It actually tasted like Glutinous Rice with Lotus Leaf instead of Loh Mai Gai.

Pan Fried Carrot Cake. The best radish cake I ever had, it will melt in your mouth, the soft radish cake with alot of radish shred, strong radish smell. #YukiRecommended

Spinach Dumpling. Chopped spinach with shrimp wrapped with crystal clear bouncy dumpling skin. The spinach taste very strong, if you not a spinach lover, you will felt it is very veggie.

Fried beancurd skin with shrimp. Not the best one. A bit disappointed in this dish. I expected, it's nicer than normal dim sum shop. You can have better one in the normal dim sum shop with reasonable price, not worth to order here.

Dim Sum must order dish, Har Gao. The size is bigger than my imagination. =)
Shrimp is fresh, bouncy. The thickness of the skin is perfect.

Har Gao's partner - Mr Siew Mai. If eat dim sum, this two is must have order.
Shrimp, minced pork with wan tan skin. I felt it's nice. Maybe for Zerm it's not nice, cause he said Siew Mai should be contain with minced pork meat only. LoLz

Shrimp Chee Cheong Fun & Char Siew Chee Cheong Fun. Ermm, both also got soy sauce, but the shrimp one I take photo before the staff drip in the soy sauce. The chee cheong fun is silky smooth, so the shrimp is fresh then it will taste perfectly. Same the Char Siew one, the char siew is the same with pau, so it taste good as well.

Braised Chicken Feet with Abalone Sauce
Pork Rib with Black Bean Sauce
Beef Ball with Beancurd Skin
Above these three I didn't try, so no comment for them. =)

Some regular rules of the restaurant:

  1. Must queue up, no reservation available.
  2. All must gather together only can go in, so if you need table for 4, 4 people must be there, if 1 went to shopping, the table will give to the next patron.
  3. Take away service only available for Char Siew Pau, Pan Fried Carrot Cake. Maybe in future they will improve this.

Overall, the food quality is ok, but I really don't like their rule and service.
